Phlebotomy: Another Nursing Career
Today, a lot of training institutions offering
different trainings, form Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiovascular Life
Support, ECG Training, Intravenous Therapy, up to the recent training the “Phlebotomy Training”.
Being a nurse requires you different skills to use
in emergency cases. In the laboratory, medical technology personnel are the one
to do blood extraction at the laboratory or in the wards and special areas, but
now, through the phlebotomy training the nurse may now extract blood samples to
their patient. Usually, the laboratory personnel is toxic in warding to get
blood samples in the morning, instead of waiting the patient not to eat due to
his/her blood extraction for cholesterol analysis and fasting blood sugar.

#iBlog10: A Decade for Philippine Blogging Summit Day 2
Honestly, I am trying to digest all the talks of our
speakers from the 1st day up to the second day but there is a topic
that will hit your interest (I am not saying other topics are not interested).
For me, we (newbie blogger) are not too familiar with the other terminologies
discussed at the plenary. Other topics are applicable for those institutions
already in the blogging community.
To give a highlight from the 2nd day of the #iBlog10: The Philippine Blogging Summit, as a health blogger, I will give this in the way I see blogging for health is important.

Selfie for RH: #Yes2RH
Selfie capital for RH
More than a year ago since the Republic Act #: 10354 otherwise known as the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law of 2012 has been passed and signed by our President Benigno Simeon Aquino III and yet the Supreme Court is still on debate regarding the implementation of the law.
Likhaan Center for Womens Health initiated an online campaign #Yes2RH together with other frustrated reproductive health advocates and supporters taking the fight through social media. The Philippine Society of Sexual & Reproductive Health Nurses (PSORHN) supports this campaign to urge the supreme court to decide for the implementation of the law.

Victoria, Offers Instant Discount!
What are the things comes into
your mind when it comes to motels? Lodge or even appartel?
A thing which is common for us Filipinos
is a short-time, which means having your partner to check-in with and have sex.
Well, that’s the wrong thinking for us Filipinos. Let’s not put a negative connotation from
this!
Motel is a roadside hotel designed primarily for motorists, typically having the rooms arranged in a low building with parking directly outside. This is to accommodate motorist and travelers who wants to stay for a short period of time to take a rest.

This is NOT Your Ordinary Piece of Cake: Part 1
[How to] Process DFA Authenticated
Documents
RED RIBBON: A Brand of Cake or Authenticated Documents?
Are you planning to go abroad,
especially on Middle East? Do you have any idea on how to process your papers
to be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)? The one they called
“RED RIBBON”, a brand of cakes we know here in the Philippines. But this RED
RIBBON is not a brand of cakes and confectioneries you usually eat during birthday
celebrations and alike, it is known as the authenticated documents of the DFA because
of the literally red ribbon attached to a documents with a dry seal.
DFA authenticates
different kind of documents depending on the needs of the country you are
applying or for the positions you applying to. We (nurses), are required to
process our papers before leaving the country, this authenticated documents
serves as our copy of our documents abroad. Generally, those agencies are
asking for the following documents to be authenticated by the DFA, such as; PRC
License, Board Rating and Board Passing, Board Certificate, School Papers
(Diploma, Transcript of Records and Related Learning Experience) and your
Certificate of Employment if you are previously employed.

[HOW TO] Renew your IVT Card
![]() |
[How to] Renew your ANSAP Card |
Being a nurse requires you a lot of things to comply before
accepting in the job post you’re applying or even volunteer post in an
institutions. So one of these include is the IVT Card issued by the Association
of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines(ANSAP), the only nursing
organization offering training and seminars on Intravenous Therapy.
It’s been three (3) years when I got my IVT card and now, it’s
about time to renew it. Here are some of my experiences when I renewing my
card. I prefer renewing my IVT Card personally at ANSAP Office, this may time consuming
for those people who are working but this will not take you a month to wait for
your card. ANSAP office releases your card immediately upon submission of all
requirements needed.

Sex: One of the Physiological Needs under Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
Physiological needs are the physical requirements for human survival. If these requirements are not met, the human body cannot function properly and will ultimately fail. Physiological needs are thought to be the most important; they should be met first.
Air, water, and food are metabolic requirements for survival in all animals, including humans. Clothing and shelter provide necessary protection from the elements. While maintaining an adequate birth rate shapes the intensity of the human sexual instinct, sexual competition may also shape said instinct. (Wikipedia)

7th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR)
PRESS RELEASE: Mulat Pinoy-KNN to cover 7th APCRSHR
The 7th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) will be taking place in the Philippines on January 21-24, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network will be present at the conference as part of its social media coverage committee, producing material from the event's activities for posting in online venues.
The APCRSHR is an international conference that discusses critical issues affecting sexual and reproductive health concerns, particularly in national contexts across the Asia-Pacific region. The conference theme of “Examining achievements, good practices and challenges: towards a strategic positioning of SRHR for all” is in line with Mulat Pinoy-KNN's continuing vision to help expand public awareness regarding issues relevant to young people.
By having its reporters and video teams present during the conference, the conference's social media coverage committee intends to supplement the broader coverage of established media outlets. Photos, articles and video interviews are intended to be among the coverage materials produced and shared online. “Social media is everywhere now,” explains Mulat Pinoy-KNN's editorial coordinator, Dante Gagelonia. “We should always recognize the value of delivering credible information to as many venues as possible, especially online. Since not everyone can physically attend the conference, we want to be able to help disseminate its key points and messages through social networks, in the hopes of reaching more people.”
Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network is a population and development awareness project of the Probe Media Foundation, Incorporated (PMFI). The Mulat Pinoy project was created in 2009 to help deliver research-based information to the public through online engagement and corresponding offline events, and it has since evolved to focus on issues relevant to the youth, eventually combining with Kabataan News Network (KNN), a related project of PMFI. The Probe Media Foundation, in turn, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of media in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region through training of professional and aspiring media practitioners.
