#iBlog10: A Decade for Philippine Blogging Summit Day 2

Honestly, I am trying to digest all the talks of our speakers from the 1st day up to the second day but there is a topic that will hit your interest (I am not saying other topics are not interested). For me, we (newbie blogger) are not too familiar with the other terminologies discussed at the plenary. Other topics are applicable for those institutions already in the blogging community.

To give a highlight from the 2nd day of the #iBlog10: The Philippine Blogging Summit, as a health blogger, I will give this in the way I see blogging for health is important.

This is NOT Your Ordinary Piece of Cake: Part 1

[How to] Process DFA Authenticated Documents

RED RIBBON: A Brand of Cake or Authenticated Documents?

Are you planning to go abroad, especially on Middle East? Do you have any idea on how to process your papers to be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)? The one they called “RED RIBBON”, a brand of cakes we know here in the Philippines. But this RED RIBBON is not a brand of cakes and confectioneries you usually eat during birthday celebrations and alike, it is known as the authenticated documents of the DFA because of the literally red ribbon attached to a documents with a dry seal.

DFA authenticates different kind of documents depending on the needs of the country you are applying or for the positions you applying to. We (nurses), are required to process our papers before leaving the country, this authenticated documents serves as our copy of our documents abroad. Generally, those agencies are asking for the following documents to be authenticated by the DFA, such as; PRC License, Board Rating and Board Passing, Board Certificate, School Papers (Diploma, Transcript of Records and Related Learning Experience) and your Certificate of Employment if you are previously employed.

Sex: One of the Physiological Needs under Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

Physiological needs are the physical requirements for human survival. If these requirements are not met, the human body cannot function properly and will ultimately fail. Physiological needs are thought to be the most important; they should be met first.

Air, water, and food are metabolic requirements for survival in all animals, including humans. Clothing and shelter provide necessary protection from the elements. While maintaining an adequate birth rate shapes the intensity of the human sexual instinct, sexual competition may also shape said instinct. (Wikipedia)

7th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR)

PRESS RELEASE: Mulat Pinoy-KNN to cover 7th APCRSHR

The 7th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) will be taking place in the Philippines on January 21-24, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network will be present at the conference as part of its social media coverage committee, producing material from the event's activities for posting in online venues.

The APCRSHR is an international conference that discusses critical issues affecting sexual and reproductive health concerns, particularly in national contexts across the Asia-Pacific region. The conference theme of “Examining achievements, good practices and challenges: towards a strategic positioning of SRHR for all” is in line with Mulat Pinoy-KNN's continuing vision to help expand public awareness regarding issues relevant to young people.

By having its reporters and video teams present during the conference, the conference's social media coverage committee intends to supplement the broader coverage of established media outlets. Photos, articles and video interviews are intended to be among the coverage materials produced and shared online. “Social media is everywhere now,” explains Mulat Pinoy-KNN's editorial coordinator, Dante Gagelonia. “We should always recognize the value of delivering credible information to as many venues as possible, especially online. Since not everyone can physically attend the conference, we want to be able to help disseminate its key points and messages through social networks, in the hopes of reaching more people.”

Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network is a population and development awareness project of the Probe Media Foundation, Incorporated (PMFI). The Mulat Pinoy project was created in 2009 to help deliver research-based information to the public through online engagement and corresponding offline events, and it has since evolved to focus on issues relevant to the youth, eventually combining with Kabataan News Network (KNN), a related project of PMFI. The Probe Media Foundation, in turn, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of media in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region through training of professional and aspiring media practitioners.
